Educational and methodical workshop was held at the department

A scientific and methodological seminar on two topics was held online on the platform Zoom at the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies on June 3, 2021.

The first topic was "Peculiarities of scientific articles preparation in high-ranking publications". The speaker was Assistant Professor Liudmyla KLIUCHKO.

The second topic was "Ensuring compliance with the requirements of academic integrity in scientific and qualification papers". The speaker was Assistant Professor Ievgeniia TELEBIENIEVA.

Associate Professor Liudmyla KLIUCHKO analyzed the features of the preparation of scientific articles in publications indexed in scientometric databases Scopus / Web of Science, told about the search criteria for the necessary publication, the typical structure of a scientific publication, the essence of its components, noted the preparation stages of the scientific publication and promoting it for review, publication and further indexation. In addition, Liudmyla KLIUCHKO covered the requirements issue of these scientometric databases, classification of journals included in Scopus / Web of Science.

Associate Professor Ievgeniia TELEBIENIEVA told the audience about the types of violations of academic virtue, legal and regulatory documents governing the papers verification on the borrowings presence, reminded the staff of the department the indicators of originality in checking various types of scientific, scientific-methodical and methodical papers approved by the Academic Council of the University and the Faculty. Ievgeniia TELEBIENIEVA also noted the requirements of academic virtue in the texts of scientific and qualification papers. In addition, she noted the peculiarities of checking textual materials (scientific articles, dissertations, qualifying papers, etc.) for uniqueness. The lecturers’ reports provoked a lively discussion of all staff of the department. Lecturers shared their experience in preparing scientific articles in Scopus / Web of Science indexed publications and work with students to prevent plagiarism.
