Our achievements


During 2019-2020 students of the department took an active part in educational and scientific activities, in particular, in the University competition of student research papers in natural sciences - 3 people (V. Mirenkova - II place, R. Korenkov, E. Zaitsev - diplomas of participants), Kharkiv regional competition for student research papers in natural sciences - 4 people (R. Korenkov - diploma of the second degree, supervisor - Assist. Prof. K. Sehida, V. Mirenkova - diploma of the third degree, supervisor - Assist. Prof. K. Kravchenko; E. Zaitsev and H. Karaichentseva - diplomas of participants), the first stage of the All-Ukrainian competition - defense of student research papers in the section "Geography", "Earth Sciences (Hydrometeorology)" - Valeria Mirenkova (participant's diploma).

H. Karaichentseva – a 2nd year student, Chairman of the Trade Union Organization of Students, PhD students and Doctoral Students of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism received a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for students of Eastern Ukrainian universities.

D. Ushkvarok, a third-year student, received a scholarship from the Heroes of the Celestial Hundred.

Group GR-32 (curator K. Kravchenko) won and took the second place in the university competition for the best group.

The active international activity of the department continues. During the first semester of 2019-2020 a.y. Silver Vincent Sutt, a student of the School of Natural Sciences and Health of Tallinn University (Estonia), studied at the Department under the Erasmus + program. He studied disciplines, which available in English (Tourist and Recreational Resources of the World, Excursion Studies, Management of Tourist and Recreational Activity, Recreational Country Studies).

During the second semester of 2019-2020 academic year, Darya Ushkvarok, a third-year bachelor’s student, studied at the University of Girona (Spain), and Vladislav Kozak, a second-year bachelor’s student, studied at Tallinn University (Estonia) under the Erasmus + program.

On October 14-19, 2019 the department was visited by Josep Vila Subiros, Professor of Geography, Faculty of Arts, University of Girona (Spain) for the purpose of lecturing, exchange experiences in scientific and educational activities under the Erasmus + academic mobility program.

On November 8-12, 2019, Cezar Morar, Associate Professor of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Spatial Planning, Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sports, University of Oradea (Romania) passed an internship at the Department under the Erasmus + program.

On March 12-16, 2020 the department was visited by lecturers of Tallinn University (Estonia) Associate Professor Mart Reimann and prof. Hannes Palang for the purpose of lecturing, exchange of experience in scientific and educational activities under the Erasmus + program.

An Interinstitutional Agreement has been signed between the higher education institutions of the program and the Erasmus + partner countries (with the University of Oradea, Romania) in order to ensure the mobility of students and lecturers between universities in the 2019-2021 programming period (September 6, 2019).

An Interinstitutional Agreement for 2019/20 - 2021/22 programming period has been signed between the higher education institutions of the program and the Erasmus + partner countries (with the University of Girona, Spain) in order to ensure the mobility of students and lecturers between universities (November 12, 19).

An Interinstitutional Agreement for 2019-2021 programming period has been signed between the higher education institutions of the program and the Erasmus + partner countries (with Akdeniz University, Turkey) in order to ensure the mobility of students and lecturers between universities (March 2, 2020).

In 2019-2020 academic year an application for funding to ensure the mobility of students and lecturers between universities (for the programming period 2019/20 - 2021/22) from the Erasmus + Program (with the University of Girona, Spain) was approved.
