A PhD students conference "Development Strategy of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for 2019-2025: Perspectives for PhD students" was held in V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University On May 21, 2019.
The moderator of the conference was Head of the Young Scientists Council, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies Kateryna Kravchenko. The presidium of the conference also included head of the advisory service on the certification of applicants for academic degrees, associate professor Valentina Panchenko, academic secretary of the scientific and research department of the scientific and technical council of the University Victoria Lunyova, senior inspector of the PhD studies department Victoria Zvyagintseva.
New opportunities for PhD students of the University were discussed considering the Development Strategy for 2019-2025 during the event. Graduates learned about Project 1.6 "Effective PhD School and Doctoral School", its purpose, objectives and expected results.
It is also noted that nowadays the university provides financial support for travel of young scholars who win grants abroad for research purposes.
The report "Conducting an experiment on the awarding of a doctor's degree" was made by the head of the advisory service on the certification of applicants for academic degrees, associate professor Valentina Panchenko, covering issues of PhD theses preparation, preconditions for submission and their defense.
