A joint curatorial hour was held at the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies

A joint curatorial hour for students of the department on the topic: "Global sustainable development goals" was held at the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies on April 19, 2023. The event was prepared and conducted by the Head of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, prof. Liudmyla NIEMETS and Assoc. Prof. Ievgeniia TELEBIENIEVA with the help of the course curators: Kateryna KRAVCHENKO, Liudmila KLIUCHKO, Yurii KANDYBA, Kateryna SEGIDA.

Assoc. Prof. Ievgeniia TELEBIENIEVA prepared a thorough and interesting presentation about the content and features of the contemporary state of interaction of global society with the natural environment, features of the Sustainable Development Strategy until 2030.

Prof. Liudmyla NIEMETS emphasized the importance and relevance of the mentioned topic, revealed the essence of the concept of "Sustainable development", familiarized those present with the documents that regulate the sustainable development goals at the level of the UN, Ukraine, and the university; activities of international organizations on the environment and development, international acts and documents related to education for sustainable development. Also Prof. Liudmyla NIEMETS described in detail the 17 sustainable development goals until 2030, and emphasized the importance of education for the formation of a culture of frugal and responsible attitude to the natural and social environment.

Deputy Dean of the faculty Kateryna KRAVCHENKO for scientific and educational work conducted extremely powerful work on the organization of the curatorial hour.

The curatorial hour was attended by students of all courses of the department, graduate students, as well as students led by the head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of Volyn National University named after Lesia Ukrainka, a graduate of the department's PhD program, Assoc. Prof. Taras POGREBSKY.
