The student Olha Podpriatova completed her studies at the University of Girona (Spain) under the Erasmus+ program

During the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, the 3rd-year student of the GE-31 group of the educational and professional program “Economic, Social Geography and Regional Development” Olha PODPRIATOVA studied at the University of Girona (Girona, Spain) as part of the Erasmus+ international credit mobility program.

The study took place at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Girona. As part of the academic mobility, the student mastered the following courses: “Current World II”, “History of Globalization”, “Public Policy in Practice”, “Sustainable Business Models in a Global Context”, “Quantitative and Qualitative Methods in Social Sciences”.

During the study, she deepened knowledge on issues of contemporary global processes, history of globalization, formation and implementation of public policy, the principles of sustainable development and the use of quantitative and qualitative methods in social research. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of international approaches to the study of social, economic and political processes.

In addition to the academic component, the student took part in cultural and integration events organized by the university. In particular, she visited an excursion to the historical center of Girona, the Salvador Dali Museum, Andorra, the Montserrat monastery complex, the city of Collioure and the wine-growing region in the south of France. Another important event was the international event Global Week, dedicated this year to Bulgaria.

During classes, Olha actively used examples from the Ukrainian experience within the framework of classroom discussions and educational tasks, which made it possible to familiarize students and lecturers with individual features of the development of Ukraine, its social and political processes.

Participation in the Erasmus+ program contributed to the improvement of the English language proficiency, development of intercultural communication skills, independence and adaptation to the new educational environment. The experience gained is important for the further professional and academic development of the student in the field of human geography and regional development.

Olha expresses her gratitude to the lecturers of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies for the organization and opportunity to study at the University of Girona. We congratulate Olha on the successful completion of academic mobility and wish her further scientific, educational and professional achievements!
