The lecturers of the department took part in the webinar dedicated to the World Meteorological Day

On March 23, 2023, Head of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, D.Sc. in Geography, Prof. Liudmyla Niemets and PhD in Geography, Professor, D.Sc. in Geography, Prof. Kateryna Sehida, Assoc. Prof. PhD in Geography,  Assoc. Prof. Kateryna Kravcenko,  Assoc. Prof. PhD in Geography Pavlo Kobylin took part in the webinar of the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute company (MDPI), dedicated to the World Meteorological Day (MDPI World Meteorological Day). Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) is a Swiss publisher of open access scientific journals. Currently, the company is the largest publisher of open access journals in the world and the fifth largest publisher by volume of articles.

As part of the event, the reports of 3 speakers were heard:

  • Dr. Ying Ouyang (Bottomland Hardwood Research Center, USA): "Impact of multiple hurricanes and tropical storms on watershed hydrology over the past 50 years in the northern Gulf of Mexico",
  • Professor Nicole Melders (University of Alaska Fairbanks, USA): "Extreme Colds and Heat Waves: Thermophysiological Comfort and Köppen-Geiger Climatic Zones",
  • Professor Phoebe Kunduri (Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece), Technical University of Denmark): "Science-based transition to sustainable development: for sustainability and fair future".

Upon the webinar the lecturers received certificates.
