Second-year students’ summer practice

Recently, students of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies of groups GR-21 and GC-22 returned from the field stage of educational professionally-oriented practice.

During the field phase of the practice, students visited Lviv, Volyn, Transcarpathia and the Republic of Belarus, where they visited the main tourist sites of Lviv, Rakhov, Khust, Uzhgorod, Volovets, Kovel, Brest and Minsk. In particular, students, along with their supervisors Assistant Professors Pavlo Virchenko and Liudmyla Kliuchko visited the geographical center of Europe (v. Dilove), climbed the mountain Goverla to the highest point of Ukraine, got acquainted with the technology of making cheeses in the Seliska cheese factory, special features of the snail farm, visited the Shipot waterfall, the highest-altitude lake of Ukraine – the lake Sinevir, center of rehabilitation of bears, climbed to the Mount Gimba, "stormed" Khust, Nevitsky and Uzhgorod castles, visited Shatsky National Park, where they had the opportunity to swim in the deep lake of Ukraine – the Lake Svityaz, visited the hero city Brest and the Brest Fortress, the capital of Belarus, the city-hero Minsk, where opening of the II European games was held, etc.

All students of the group prepared a transfer for various geographic and tourist sites and acted as guides for their groupmates. Among the best transfermen of the group it is worth noting Daria Ushkvark, Alexandra Paliy and Marina Slipko. After completing the practice, some of the students seriously thought about opening their own tourism business after completing their studies.

Thus, all who want to get a quality education in the field of human geography and recreation and tourism are welcome to study at our department.
