PhD in Geography Pavlo Kobylin held an open lecture at the department

Assist. Professor Pavlo KOBYLYN held an open lecture for the 3rd-year geographer students from the course "Geography of the World Economy" on the topic: "Geography of the World Agriculture" at the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies on April 18, 2023.

During the lecture, the lecturer revealed the question of the place and importance of agriculture in the world economy, the problems of hunger in the world; the role of agriculture as a component of overcoming hunger in the world; intelligent farming; familiarized those present with the main documents of the UN on world agriculture, the factors of the development of agriculture in the world and the land fund of the world, characterized the geography of the cultivation of the main vegetable crops in the world.

The lecture was attended by the Head of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, prof. Liudmyla NIEMETS, lectures and PhD students of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism, secretary of the educational and methodological commission of the faculty, Assoc. Prof. Natalia BUBYR.

There was a discussion of the lecture, during it colleagues noted the sufficient theoretical and methodological level of the lecture, the clear structure of the presentation of the material, the optimal combination of text material with interesting graphic materials, including from foreign sources, an accessible explanation of the algorithm for processing topics for independent work of students, etc. Specific methodical comments and wishes regarding the further improvement of the theoretical-methodical and pedagogical skills of the young lecturer as a whole were indicated. The students were active and demonstrated interest in the topics of the lecture. The lecturer's open lecture was evaluated at a sufficient theoretical and methodological level, it was supported the opinion of the department regarding the applying of the Ph.D in Geography Pavlo KOBYLIN to the academic title of Associate Professor.
