Lecturers of the department took part in a workshop on territorial identity

On May 19, 2022, lecturers of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies joined the Spring Workshop on Human Geography on "Territorial Identity and Symbols of Space in the Context of Russian Aggression in Ukraine". More than 70 scientists from universities and research institutions of Ukraine and Hungary attended workshop. The following reports were heard during the workshop:

  • Oleksiy Hnatyuk. Territorial identity, decolonization and symbolic space in Ukraine
  • Hryhoriy Pidhrushny. Symbols of urban space in the coordinates of peace and war
  • Roman Slyvka and Julian Braichevsky. Cities of Ukraine: places of strength and resistance during the rapid change of geopolitical narratives

The moderator of the event was the Head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Kostyntin MEZENTSEV. The reports aroused interest among those present and a lively discussion.
