On April 12, 2022, lecturers of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies joined a public lecture by Kostyantyn MEZENTSEV, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on the topic: “Military urbicide and post-war urban restoration”. The event was organized by the Faculty of Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Faculty of Geography of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and its moderator was Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Geography of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University Myroslav ZAYACHUK. The students, lecturers and researchers of various universities and research institutions of Ukraine synchronically attended the public lecture. During the lecture, Professor Kostyantyn Mezentsev told the audience about destruction of such cities cities as Rotterdam, Sarajevo, Kramatorsk during the military events, their restoration, shared the government's plans for post-war regeneration of Ukrainian cities. The lecture aroused considerable interest among those present and a lively discussion.
