On December 22, 2021 an applicant of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies Maryna LOHVYNOVA defended her PhD thesis in the one-time specialized academic council DF 64.051.031 of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University on the topic: “Human-geographical features of forced migrations in border regions of Eastern Ukraine" for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of knowledge 10 - Natural Sciences, specialty 103 - Earth Sciences, performed under the guidance of Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Liudmyla NIEMETS. The member of the council were the chairman of the council, D.Sc. in Geography, Professor Nadiia MAKSIMENKO, reviewerers, D.Sc. in Geography Sergiy KOSTRIKOV, Vilina PERESADKO and opponents, D.Sc. in Geography, Professor Grigory PIDGRUSHNY and PhD in Geography, Associate Professor Natalia PROVOTAR.
