An open online meeting was held with employers, graduates, and students of the educational program “Geography, Economics, Local Studies and Tourism Work”, dedicated to the issues of organizing the educational process in wartime conditions

On Tuesday, December 13, at 5:00 p.m., an open online meeting was held with employers, graduates, and students of the educational program "Geography, Economics, Local Studies and Tourism Work", dedicated to the issues of organizing the educational process in wartime conditions.

The head of the department Liudmyla NIEMETS welcomed the participants of the meeting, emphasized the modern challenges facing the educational system of Ukraine as a whole and its individual links in particular, emphasized the key problems and the need to consolidate efforts for the successful organization of the educational process, quality training of geographers-educators in accordance with contemporary realities, offered to discuss possible changes in educational programs at the bachelor's and master's level in the specialty 014.07 Secondary education (geography).

As part of the meeting, Acting Director of Kharkiv Secondary School No. 2 Maryna LOHVYNOVA shared her own experience of managing a secondary education institution in wartime conditions, about the peculiarities of pedagogical management, working with teachers, pupils, and parents; about difficulties and positive practices.

The discussion was attended by graduates of the educational program "Geography, Economy, Local Studies and Tourism Work", practical educators Vitaly BRYNKO, Anastasiya BYCHKOVA, Inna POTAPCHUK, teachers of private secondary schools Maksym ROMANOV and Darya VENGRYN, Guarantor of the educational program "Geography, Economy, Local Studies and Tourism Work" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, PhD in Geography, Assoc. Prof. Yuriy KANDYBA and Guarantor of the educational program "Geography, Economy, Local Studies and Tourism Work" of the second (master's) level of higher education”, D.Sc. in Geography, Assoc. Prof. Kateryna SEHIDA, master's student of the educational program "Geography, Economy, Local Studies and Tourism Work" Anastasia BURYKINA. They discussed contemporary trends in geographic education, the issue of changing the emphasis of the geography curriculum for grades 6-9 and 10-11, individual content components according to the Concept of the New Ukrainian School, the competence potential of geography as an educational subject, including its natural and social components, peculiarities of the study of cross-cutting content lines, reorientation of the practical component of teaching geography at school and the expediency of developing electronic resources for practical work, etc.. All participants emphasized the importance and timeliness of the meeting, thanked for the organization of an open platform for communication and exchange of information.
