Professional workshops were held to test the theses of the PhD students of the department

On March 1, 2021 at the Department of Socio-Economic Geography and Regional Studies online professional workshop were held to test the theses of the PhD students of the department Marina LOHVYNOVA on the topic: "Human-geographical features of forced migration in the border regions of Ukraine” (scientific supervisor – D.Sc. in Geography, Prof. Liudmyla NIEMETS) and Olga SUPTELO on the topic "Post-industrial transformations of the city of Kharkiv: human-geographical aspects" (scientific supervisor – D.Sc. in Geography, Assoc. Prof. Kateryna SEHIDA), obtaining the Doctor of Philosophy degree, specialty 103 - Earth Sciences. The workshop was attended by the lecturers, PhD students of the department, as well as representatives of higher education and research institutions of other Ukraine’s regions, including Uman National University of Horticulture, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Institute of Geography of NAS of Ukraine, Chernivtsi National Yuri Fedkovych University, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatyuk, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, Kharkiv Trade and Economic Institute, KNTEU, Kyiv National Linguistic University. The reports of the PhD students provoked a lively discussion and based on the results of the discussion it was decided to recommend theses for defense.
