During the second semester of 2022-2023 academic year the 2nd-year student of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies Vitaliia Dashchenko studied at the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Girona (Spain) under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. The academic exchange program provides a grant that covers the costs of flight, accommodation, meals, etc.
During the academic semester, Vitalia studied the following courses: tourism resource management, new demands for tourism, creation and marketing of tourism products, leisure facilities, hotel management and introduction to Catalan language and culture A1. All courses were held exclusively in English.
Vitaliia also conducted an analysis of the natural and socio-economic features of the city of Girona and the region of Catalonia, compared the development of the urban systems of the cities of Spain and Ukraine, determined the problems and prospects of natural-resource, socio-economic and tourism-recreational development in the region of Catalonia. Vitalia visited exciting excursions to the sights of Girona, museums and made a trip to the beautiful city of Pals Sea in the Mediterranean.
This educational experience gave Vitaliia the opportunity to significantly expand her horizons in the field of recreational activities, and now she wants to contribute to the creation of unforgettable tourist offers in Ukraine.
Vitaliia is sincerely grateful to the organizers of the program, lecturers of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for the opportunity to study at the University of Girona.
