On October 8, 2020 the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Region 2020: Optimal Development Strategy" in an online-format was held at the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies. The conference was attended by colleagues from Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Romania, Spain and Thailand. During the conference, presentation were made on the peculiarities of population resettlement, agricultural development, socio-economic development, use of natural resource potential, demographic problems, tourism in Ukraine and foreign countries. Foreign participants of the conference spoke about the activities and features of the educational process at their departments, faculties. A separate session was dedicated to the memory of Yaroslav Oliynyk, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Dean of the Faculty of Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Head of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, Prof. Liudmyla Niemets offered the conference participants to organize more similar online meetings to discuss areas of scientific and educational cooperation in the field of human geography.
