Students, PhD students and lecturers of the department took part in a series of lectures organized by colleagues from Romania, Italy, Poland
On March 9-10, 2026, students, PhD students and lecturers of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies took part in a series of lectures within the framework of the Erasmus blended intensive program "Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Cities, by Managing Hazards and Risks", organized jointly by the University of Oradea (Romania), the University of Enna "Kore" (Italy), the University of the Mediterranean of Reggio Calabria (Italy), the University of Cagliari (Italy), the Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland), the University of Gdańsk (Poland).
Over 70 students, Phd students, teachers, scientists from Romania, Italy, Poland, USA, Morocco attended the lectures. The lecturers of the Erasmus Blended Intensive Program were:
- Cezar Morar (University of Oradea, Romania) – Perspectives over the Blended Intensive Program (BIP): Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Cities, by Managing Hazards and Risks
- Laurel Berman (University of Illinois at Chicago/DePaul University, USA) – Risk Assessment Approaches to Site Remediation: KI Sawyer former military brownfield
