Students of the department studying in the Czech Republic under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program listened to a lecture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic

We knew that we would have a very valuable experience while studying under the Erasmus + academic mobility program, but we couldn't even imagine how much.

On Thursday, April 7, Jaroslav Kurfürst, a lecturer in Political Geography of the Transatlantic Space, gave us a lecture at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a special guest was the US Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Jeffrey.

Ambassador Jeffrey told us about the specifics of the profession, shared his own experience, told about how the United States builds its ties with different countries. We also had the opportunity to ask our own questions, which Mr. Jeffrey answered thoroughly.

After the meeting with Mr. Jeffrey, Jaroslav Kurfürst gave us a tour of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, showed us the rooms and halls where conferences, press conferences, meetings with partners are held, various agreements are signed. He spoke about the history of the development of international relations in the Czech Republic and about the key personalities of this history, especially about Jan Masarek.

After this tour, we returned to the conference hall, where Jaroslav Kurfürst gave a lecture on international relations and treaties during the Cold War.

We gained invaluable experience, unforgettable impressions and extremely valuable practice and knowledge.

We thank the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Ostrava and Jaroslav Kurfürst for such a valuable experience!

We would like to thank the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for the opportunity to study under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at University of Ostrava and gain knowledge that will be useful for Ukraine in the future!
