On May 28, 2024 a professional workshop on the preliminary examination of the thesis by Denys Serohin (a PhD student of the department), on the topic "Geo-informational modeling and analysis of regional segments of the global urbanized space (case study of different cities)" (scientific supervisor – D.Sc. in Geography, Prof. S.V. Kostrikov) was held at the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies. He is getting a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the 103 - Earth Sciences specialty. The members of the department, representatives of other departments of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism, guarantors of the educational and scientific program, and project group members, reviewers attended the workshop.
The PhD student's report aroused considerable interest among the participants of the workshop and a lively discussion. Based on the results of the discussion, it was decided to recommend the thesis for defense.
