On January 8-9, 2025, the lecturers of K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies took part in the design of the international project on the topic: “Nature restoration for resilient landscape”, which is planned to be submitted within the framework of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships for Higher Education (KA220-HED) program. The potential project participants are:

  • The University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu, Finland)
  • University of Girona (Girona, Spain)
  • Iuav University of Venice (Venice, Italy)
  • V.N. Kharkiv National University Karazina
  • Diputacion De Gerona (Girona, Spain)
  • Ente Parco Regionale Veneto Delta del Po (Ariano nel Polesine, Italy)
  • Regional Council of North Karelia Joensuu (Joensuu, Finland)

The aim of this project is to raise awareness of the state of the environment in terms of sustainable development and to promote the EU’s Nature Restoration Law (NRL) by developing innovative teaching methods in higher education. The potential project will include a series of webinars as staff training, development of a massive open online course (MOOC), and the implementation of ReLand learning labs in Italy, Spain and Finland. We thank to Professor Josep Vili SUBIROS (University of Girona (Spain) and Dr. Minnie TANSKANEN (University of Eastern Finland) for the invitation to participate in the project. We hope for the success of the project application and further cooperation.
