On May 13, 2025 the lecturers of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies took part in a meeting with representatives of the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde), as well as the University of Leipzig (Leipzig (Germany), in particular with Dr. Sebastian Lentz, Project Head for Construction, Director of the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography in 2003-2024, Marie Plinke, Head of the international partnership department of the University of Leipzig, and Melanie Mienert, coordinator of the Leibniz Science Campus for Eastern Europe. The colleagues discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation in aspects of participation in joint research projects, holding joint scientific events, participation in academic mobility programs for lecturers and students on the topics of restoration of military brownfields, post-war development and reconstruction, forced migration of Ukrainians in Germany.
