On October 8-9, 2025, lecturers and PhD students of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies took part in the XXVIII International Scientific Conference "Problems of Continuous Geographic Education and Cartography", which was held at the Department of Physical Geography and Cartography of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism, PhD in Geography, Assoc. Prof. Kateryna KRAVCHENKO addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The professor of the Department, D.Sc. in Geography Kateryna SEHIDA and the PhD student Kostyantyn MALYARENKO presented a report "On the issue of assessing the economic component of territorial development".
Associate Professor of the Department, PhD in Geography Nataliia HUSIEVA delivered a report “Neural Network Clustering of Regions: Analysis of Variability of Kohonen Self-Organizing Maps Results”.
The reports sparked a lively scientific discussion among the participants of the conference. The event was an excellent opportunity to exchange experience, professional communication with colleagues from different universities, discuss current problems of contemporary geographical science and determine the prospects for the further development of geographical education and research.
