On February 12, 2021, Liudmyla KLIUCHKO, Assistant Professor of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, gave the online-lecture for masters of geography at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko on the topic: "Historical features of the medical geography development." During the lecture, the peculiarities of the medical and geographical research development in the world and in Ukraine, starting from ancient times and ending with the present, were revealed. The contribution of doctors, public figures, climatologists and medical geographers to the development and formation of medical geography as a science was described. Considerable attention was paid to the cartographic materials and the first maps of the diseases spread in connection with environmental conditions. The factors influencing the development of medical-geographical research in different periods of the society development were considered.
