Employees of the department became participants in the “Competence Aid For Ukraine (CAFU)” project

From June 4, 2024, PhD student, senior lecturer Daria Venhryn and professor of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies Sergiy Kostrikov joined the participation in the online course and series of seminars of the "Competence Aid For Ukraine (CAFU)" project.

The goal of the CAFU project, which is financed by the Swedish Institute, is to provide Ukrainian student and academic youth with competencies that complement their studies, as well as create the possibility of a holistic impact on the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine in accordance with the standards of the European Union and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The participants of the consortium of project are Folkuniversitetet, Uppsala University (Sweden), Sustainability InnoCenter Ekonomisk förening (Sweden), V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

The topics of the seminars are devoted to the comprehensive coverage and discussion of the concept and goals of sustainable development, economic, social and environmental components of sustainable development, the development of practical cases of management decision-making in the context of striving to achieve the sustainable development goals, etc. Organized interactive discussions, work in groups to complete tasks and lively communication among project participants are the hallmarks of CAFU project seminars, which provide a real opportunity to develop or acquire new decision-making competencies based on the doctrine of sustainable development.
