Internship of teachers at Tallinn University

From June 14 to 28, 2023, Assistant professors of the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies, PhD in Geography Kateryna KRAVCHENKO and Liudmyla KLYUCHKO participated in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at Tallinn University (Tallinn, Estonia).

During the internship at the Tallinn University, the lecturers made a presentation of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies for participants of the Erasmus+ program, students and employees of the Tallinn University, discussed the prospects and possibilities of further cooperation at the scientific and educational levels between both universities.

A number of working meetings were held with Mart REIMAN, associate professor of the Department of Recreation Management, School of Natural Sciences and Health, Tallinn University. The planning structure and tourist and excursion potential of the central part of the city of Tallinn and the port area were studied. One of the gentrified districts of Tallinn, Telliskivi, which is now a center of creativity and innovation, located in a former Tallinn industrial complex, was studied. There are art galleries, shops, various creative enterprises, startups and catering establishments, photo studios, advertising agencies, Telliskivi Creative City cultural center, the world-famous photography museum Fotografiska Tallinn, Juhan Kuus Documentary Photography Center, Independent Dance Stage, Ice Cream Factory LaMuu, the Club of Different Rooms, theaters, the office of the organizing committee of the Tallinn Music Week music festival, there are various cultural and creative events that attract tourists and local residents.

A study of the demographic features of settlements in Estonia, the features of the migration situation, and the integration of Ukrainian refugees in Estonia and the Baltic states as a whole was also conducted.

A joint working meeting was held with the representative of the international office, chief international cooperation specialist Anete ELKEN, and the possibilities of further cooperation and the preparation of a joint application for the next program period were discussed.

In addition, the directions of further cooperation, the subject of joint publications in European journals indexed by scientometric databases, as well as the prospects of submitting regular joint grant applications were discussed
