Webinar on the topic: “Nature Restoration in Ukraine: Challenges of War and Opportunities for EU Integration”: we invite you to participate

We invite you to take part in the fifth webinar within the series on the topic: "Nature Restoration in Ukraine: Challenges of War and Opportunities for EU Integration", which will take place on May 29, 2026.

Start of the event: 10:15 (Kyiv time).

Working language: English.

The webinar is held as part of the project "Nature Restoration – challenges and opportunities for future landscape specialists" (FutureLand) under the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships for Higher Education program (KA220-HED) together with colleagues from Spain, Italy and Finland. The K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism is the executor of the grant project from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

The webinar will discuss the opportunities and challenges of implementing the EU Regulation on nature restoration in Ukraine, the impact of military activities on the state of the natural environment, urban ecosystems, restoration of natural landscapes after environmental disasters, development of tactic urbanism, public participation, and formation of memorial spaces in the urban environment in Ukraine and the city of Kharkiv in particular.

The webinar will include presentations by representatives of executive authorities, local governments, non-governmental organizations and academia of Ukraine.
