Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Human-Geographical Factors of Regional Development", which was held in a remote format. The conference was organized by the Department of Economic and Social Geography of the Faculty of Geography of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The event traditionally brought together leading scientists, lecturers, PhD students and students who study the issues of regional development, spatial organization of society and modern geographical processes.
The participants of the department presented interesting and relevant reports dedicated to modern trends in human-geographical research, socio-economic processes, spatial planning, tourism development and the introduction of innovative educational technologies.
In particular, a report on the topic "Determining the features of the transformation of urban agglomerations of Ukraine based on lidar images" was delivered by Kateryna KRAVCHENKO, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism. Her speech sparked a lively discussion and active debate among the conference participants.
The work of the conference covered eight scientific areas reflecting a wide range of contemporary human-geographical research, namely from theoretical and methodological foundations and industry studies to issues of spatial planning, recreation, tourism and the application of geoinformation technologies.
We sincerely thank the organizers of the conference for holding such an important scientific event - a powerful platform for the exchange of scientific ideas, developments and views, which creates an opportunity to discuss current problems of geographical science, features of geography teaching, as well as issues of improving regional and urban planning, which will contribute to the sustainable development of territories and the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
