The department hosted the International Scientific and Practical Workshop “Interdisciplinary Studies of Urbanized Spaces in the Context of Sustainable Development Concept”

On February 4, 2025, K. Nemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies hosted the International Scientific and Practical Workshop “Interdisciplinary Studies of Urbanized Spaces in the Context of Sustainable Development Concept”.

The workshop was attended by more than 40 participants – researchers, scholars, students, and PhD students from Ukraine (V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, A.S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University), Serbia (Belgrade University), Spain (University of Girona), Turkey (Akdeniz University), and Finland (University of Eastern Finland). During the workshop, a lively discussion took place on topical issues related to urbicide and post-urbicide, renaturalization, green transition of cities, sustainable development strategies in the context of the global environmental crisis, application of remote sensing and GIS methods in urban studies, the prospects for the post-war restoration of urban agglomerations of Ukraine, and the vision of the post-war development of Ukraine.
