Today, our university family received terrible news and an irreparable loss - the Defender of Ukraine, our Hero, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism, Yehor SHUMAEV, passed away from a serious injury while performing a combat mission.
Yehor will forever remain in our hearts and memories as cheerful, sincere and frank, always smiling, strong and principled man. Yegor was always interested in student and public life, took an active part in various events, and had a clear civic stance.
From the first days of the military aggression, Yehor volunteered to defend Kharkiv in the ranks of the territorial defence, and later he courageously defended Donbas in the ranks of the Armed Forces. For his high professionalism and exemplary performance of the duties of a military serviceman, Yehor received the Award "For Service to the State" for his impeccable and conscientious service.
Yehor loved Ukraine and dreamed of Victory and the liberation of our country from the Russian invaders. After a serious injury, doctors and parents fought for his life for several days, but the injuries received were not compatible with life.
Yehor is a true patriot of our motherland of Ukraine, the memory of Yehor will live in our hearts... Heroes do not die..
We are sincerely grateful for your support and fight for Yegor's life!
